Hi, my name is Max! I hold a Dr.-Ing. degree in Computer Science from Chemnitz University of Technology and a Master’s degree in the same field from ETH Zurich. My research is primarily concerned with Human-Centered Design as well as the combination of search engines and automatic approaches to usability & HCI. Since March 2017, I’m doing research in the fields of augmented reality and interaction design at the University of Michigan School of Information.

Moreover, I’m a five-time German champion and two-time world team champion in Ringtennis, a sport I’ve been playing since 1998. I’m the men’s captain of the German national team, which won the gold medal at the world championships in Vereeniging (South Africa) in April 2014. The next world cup will be held in Minsk (Belarus) in 2018.

On Twenty Oh Eight, I’m writing about design, usability, user experience, the various research I do, Ringtennis and all the other things I find interesting—astronomy, cosmology, and occasionally even philosophy. Thanks a bunch for reading! Also, please follow me on Twitter  🙂
