I know I was a little negligent of my blog in 2018 and 2019, and I didn’t write nearly as much as I would have liked to. But I’m very determined to improve on this again. (As you might have noticed based on the last three articles I published in pretty quick succession before they would have potentially starved to death in my draft backlog.) Therefore, I have decided to make a couple of changes to this little blog of mine.
New “Branding” And a Stronger Focus on Design & UX
Firstly, I tweaked the “branding” a little bit. I know, I know … my blog isn’t exactly a brand in the first place—therefore the quotation marks. But anyway, I gave it a new subtitle. Originally, it was simply called “Twenty Oh Eight” (read about the reasons in my very first post) and while I like the name a lot, it isn’t very telling regarding the topics I write about here.
Therefore, the official new name is 2008 ‒ Tales of Design & User Experience since thematically I want to set a stronger (but not exclusive) focus on design and UX topics—as you might have guessed from the last three posts.
(I also adjusted the logo a bit to make for a better mobile experience.)
Secondly, while design and UX are clearly very important topics to me, I also want to write more about the books I read (which—I promise!—aren’t all about design and/or UX). This is mainly inspired by Alan Cooper, who writes about what he is and has been reading on a regular basis.
Oh, and by the way, you can also add me on Goodreads, where I keep lists of books I already have read and want to read, if you like: https://www.goodreads.com/user/show/99651639-max-speicher 🙂
Thirdly, I want to bring in some guest authors to provide you with perspectives other than just mine. I already have a couple of very good ones in mind, so stay tuned!
Now, if you’re one of the 5 people who were already reading my blog—thanks so much for your loyalty, and I hope you’ll still enjoy it even with the above changes! If you’ve never been here before—welcome, and I hope I can manage to keep you as a reader! 🎉
